How to Crush DIY Digital Ads in 2023

The New Year gives us a chance for a fresh start each year. Out with the old, and in with the new! As a small business owner, I’m here to share some good news. Digital Advertisements aren’t going anywhere, in fact there are even more platforms offering small businesses the opportunity to pay for placement in front of their users! This is why there is no better time to up your ad game! In this blog we are going to talk about 

How to Crush DIY Digital Ads in 2023

and specifically, where to look for inspiration and ideas for successful ad campaigns to run for your business! 

  1. Look at your organic traffic to help determine the best approach to increase your paid traffic. 

Give the people what they want! If you created organic content in the past that was really successful, you may want to consider utilizing the same technique in your paid ads. Strong engagement is a good benchmark as to what your audience enjoyed the most, use your analytics to your advantage! You know your audience was interested, so tweak the old content by providing a new idea for your next offer or launch!

  1. Reference current Facebook ads. 

Looking at your competitors' digital ads is a great way to get inspiration for your own ads, of course without plagiarizing! 

There are 2 ways you can go about doing this. The first is to go to the specific business page of company for whom you want to do some ad research. Go to the “About” section of that page and scroll down on the left and click where it says “Page Transparency”. Click on that and then click where it says “this page is currently running ads”. Facebook will ask you if you want to see the business’s ads in the Ads Library- click on the link provided and you will see all the ads a business is currently running. 

The second is to go to the Ad Library link and simply put in search terms and scroll through all the active ads that match your search. You can find the Ad library link here.‚Äč

  1. Search for TikTok ads in your industry.

We’re starting to see social media platforms be used as search engines! Instagram and TikTok being more popular ones, as they have informational videos that give the audience quick results to what they’re looking for with minimal reading! TikTok specifically has a creative center that shows the top-performing ads across all industries. Referencing the top-performing ads is another way to find inspiration when you’hit a creative block!
